Nehm's Greenhouse and Floral is a family owned and operated business that originated in the 1970's when Robert (Bob) and Audrey Nehm raised their own vegetable plants for their garden in a makeshift hot bed on the side of a shed. Their friends and neighbors started buying the quality seedlings and slowly business started to grow.
How We Got StartedIn 1978,their son Russ constructed the first greenhouse and they continued raising vegetables and also started to raise geraniums and flowers. Russ continued to work a full time job at Chrysler Corp. and helped nights and weekends at the greenhouse. As business grew, additional greenhouses were added.
A Family BusinessIn the early 80's Russ married Cecilia, and started to raise a family. They have three children, Teresa, Doug, and Eric. Cecilia became more involved in the business and in the early 90's Russ terminated his outside employment and also started working fulltime at the greenhouse.
Floriculture ExperienceAlso in the early 90's, Bob and Audrey's daughter, Judy, attended Gateway Technical College and received a Floriculture Degree in 1994. At that time she opened a full service floral shop alongside the greenhouse and celebrated her 10th anniversary in 2004.
